Plymouth Orthodontics can give you a life-changing experience

Deciding to get braces is a big decision. Our team is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care, making your journey an enjoyable one where you are looked after every step of the way.

what happens at my first visit?

At your first visit, we will get to know you by putting you at ease and asking you some questions so that we can understand what you want from your experience, before examining your face, mouth and teeth. It works both ways: we are always happy to answer any questions that you may have. Sometimes we take an X-ray picture of your teeth. One of our orthodontists will talk to you about the positions of you teeth and jaws and will give you some treatment options. You will not be given braces at your first visit and there is currently a waiting list for NHS orthodontic treatment.

how long does treatment typically last?

Orthodontic treatment times can vary depending on what we are trying to achieve. Treatment usually takes between 12 and 24 months to complete but some treatments can be completed sooner. Patients visit the orthodontist regularly (every 6 to 10 weeks) during this time period to review progress and to allow the braces to be adjusted.
